Zoya Tsvetkova was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia. At the age of 4 she began studying the violin with her father and at the age of 6 she went to a music school to continue her studies. While in Russia she received a 2nd prize at the North-West Regional Competition (1999) and a Diploma at the Russian National Youth Chamber Competition (2000). In 2001, Zoya moved to Dallas/Fort-Worth area and continued her violin studies with Jan Sloman (Associate Concertmaster, Dallas Symphony Orchestra). During her stay in Texas, Zoya won the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition (2002). She was a finalist in the Juanita Miller State Youth Competition (2003,2004), a National Finalist in the MTNA in Senior Strings (2004). Zoya has also received a Grand Prize in the Dallas Symphonic Festival (2004) and a Grand Prize in Hubbard Chamber Music Competition (2004). During her last year in Texas, she was the recipient of the prestigious Bayard H. Friedman Outstanding Student Award in the Performing Arts.
In 2004, Zoya was accepted to Boston University's College of Fine Arts, where she studied with Yuri Mazurkevich. She has won the Undergraduate Prize twice in the Boston University's J.S. Bach competition (2006, 2008.) In 2008, Zoya continued her studies at BU as a full scholarship Masters student with Bayla Keyes. In 2009 Zoya won BU's concerto competition and made her Boston Pops debut under Keith Lockhart. Upon graduating with Honors in 2010, Zoya has been an active performer with various groups around New England, including the Orchestra of Indian Hill, Vermont Symphony, and the Rhode Island Philharmonic, among others. She is a dedicated teacher, maintaining a private studio in Boston, and joining the faculty of Real School in Fall 2011.
Amanda Wang, a violinist and violist, began her musical studies with Christina Scroggins and Shirley Givens at the Peabody Preparatory School in Baltimore. She is a graduate of the prestigious Arts for Talented Youth Program at Peabody, a pre-professional training program for promising young musicians and dancers. Amanda is equally interested in music, science, and technology, having studied Electrical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology ('03) while continuing violin studies under Lynn Chang as an Emerson Music Fellow. She received her Master's Degree in violin performance at the Boston Conservatory in 2007, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Boston University with a full CFA scholarship.
Ms. Wang received first prize in the 2008 New England International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition, and has performed as guest artist at the Killington Music Festival and the Rockport Music Festival. Amanda is an active musician in the Boston, New York, and DC areas, performing at Carnegie's Weill Hall, New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, and The Kennedy Center. In addition to music, Ms. Wang enjoys cooking and working on her 2002 RV Sprinter conversion van. She welcomes new students of all sizes and shapes as well any tips on van conversion.

Andrew Clark has been one of the Boston area's most in-demand freelance saxophonists since he graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 1987. He has performed and/or recorded with the who's who of National and Regional acts, including Gary US Bonds, The Coasters, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, James Montgomery, Peter Wolf, Tom Hamilton and Galactic to name a few. Since 1995, Andrew has written regularly for Saxophone Journal and produced four master class CDs: CD 1 about the Akai Electric Wind Instrument for the January 2006 issue, CD 2 was a Microphone Technology CD for the March 2004 issue, CD 3 was a master class CD with Sax Gordon Beadle for the March 2002 issue and CD 4 was on playing blues and rock and roll saxophone for the Sept 1999 issue and recorded a children's CD for Dorn Publications in 1998. John Fugarino received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He then attended the New England Conservatory of Music and earned a Masters in Music Composition. John has performed and taught trumpet in both the classical and jazz idioms. Has performed a wide range of music including Orchestral,Jazz,Rhythm and Blues, Free Form Improvisation and Microtonal Music. Currently John can be seen playing his own jazz compositions and lead trumpet with "The Hornzone" an R&B/ Funk band.John is a music teacher at the Butler Middle School where he teaches in the Midi-Music Lab and directs the school Jazz Ensemble. Trumpet recordings are on the Lyra Ohm label and Zoning Records. Orchestral music recorded by the Radio and Television Orchestra of Bratislava.
Yahuba is a native of Boston, with cultural and family roots in Puerto Rico. His instruments include congas, tenor saxophone, timbales, bongo, assorted latin percussion, trap drums and vocals. Yahuba was born into music and attended the University of Massachusetts and Berklee College of Music. His father and uncle were founding members of the legendary Puerto Rican Nueva Trova pioneers: Haciendo Punto en Otro Son. His mother ran the light show for the band and this became the soil he planted his roots in at a very young age.
Yahuba has been performing in one way or another his entire life. Currently, he frequents the stage with many bands and has been teaching private percussion lessons for 5 years. Over the past decade, Yahuba has been visiting schools in New England teaching workshops on Puerto Rican as well as Caribbean music and culture.

without having fun. The same should apply to learning how to play the uke. At

Not many places teach the
Bouzouki. But at the Real School of Music we offer bouzouki lessons that are as
fun and exciting as the instrument itself. A Greek descendant of the long
necked lutes introduced into Irish music in the 1960s, the "zouk", as
it's called, with its delicate timbre and modal flavor, is now commonly found
at many tradtional Irish music sessions in the Boston area.
At
Real School, you'll take bouzouki lessons with our dedicated music instructors
who have years of experiences playing in their own bands and performing across
U.S. and other continents. We cover all the basic skills to start playing the
zouk and specific techniques including strummed and arpeggiated"cross

It takes only six weeks to make your dream of recording
music come true. Take Intro to Recording lessons at the Real School of Music
where our professional recording engineers teach you how to produce your own
multi-track digital recordings. You'll learn everything you need to know for
cutting and editing tracks, gain knowledge of studio software and you'll be
able start recording your music at home or in-studio.

Join Real School's Rich Podgur, Chad Maggs, and Tim
Bongiovanni in a six week songwriting program where students will familiarize
themselves with the art of song composition, lyric writing, arranging and
recording.
In these hour and a half classes, the first 45
minutes will be spent with Rich Podgur where students will explore elements of
composition such as form, structure, chorus, refrain, chord progressions,
harmonic movement, styles, melody, use of harmony vocals, and dynamics. Also
included will be lyric writing techniques such as meter, various rhyme schemes,
use of metaphor, and economy of words. Weekly lyric and songwriting assignments
will be given and many songs will be written.
The following 45 minutes will be spent with Chad
Maggs and Tim Bongiavanni in an introductory course to Digital Recording where
students will realize their song ideas through recording techniques, drum
loops, and MIDI instruments. All songs will be recorded using the Real Schools
recording facility. Student must bring a laptop (either Mac or PC), guitar, a binder,
manuscript paper, and a pencil.

After spending his early years studying classical piano, Gavin made the switch to drums.
Building on a Bachelor's Degree from Berklee College of Music, Gavin founded the band Karate, which went on to record seven full-length albums and a number of EPs and singles. Throughout its 12 year run, Karate played well over 600 shows across US, Europe, and Japan,
Gavin has also toured the world as drummer for The Swirlies, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Beat Circus, Cul de Sac and Glorytellers.
In addition to touring as a first-call drummer, Gavin works as a professional drum instructor and served as Director of Powerchord Academy – a premier overnight music camp, where he trained staff, coordinated students, managed seminars and coordinated live shows, video shoots and recording sessions.
Gavin's expertise in planning and managing music camps provides Real School with the in-house experience needed to make Real Jams Academy the unique, exciting music experience it is.
*Leanne is currently touring Europe and the Middle East. We expect her to return to Real School at the conclusion of her travels.
Leanne has been singing as long as she could walk. She ultimately turned that lifelong love into a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Vocal Music from Berklee College of Music.
Prior to Berklee, Leanne received classical, conservatory training from world-renowned musicians and artists. Leanne is a Cultural Arts Festival Winner and has received a BEST Music Scholarship Award.
Her vast performing experience includes A Cappella Ensemble, a stint as Adelphi University's Matriculation Singer, front woman in professional rock band, Kokopelli, and currently fronts several acts, including Boston industrial/electronic band, "Ground To Dust."
Leanne draws from a range of contemporary influences in metal, rock, pop, folk and musical theater, and is always ready to share her dynamic views and diverse background with aspiring students.
